Yes, I am the Best and the rest can Get Lost !

It is 10 A.M, fog covered morning "Delhi winters". I am in the office and too bored to work today.
If you want something logical or informative then please go away.
I am writing this because I can't think of anything else. I mean anything interesting (no plot) and I am too bored.

Let me recall few instances which made me realized that I am really awesome (the best) :D

1. Lets start with myself... these days I am too self obsessed.
I feel I have a perfect life. A pretty awesome family, some really crazy superb friends and yes that someone special ;) so everything is perfect and i am happy :) and let the world whoever is jealous of me or hates me f**k off :P.

2. I love travelling. Yes go check out my another blog on traveling. (You may think that i am advertising my travel blog, which is by the way true :P ). Traveling makes me happy and content. Few years later I am planning to run away to explore the world or may be if I am able to make some money then stay tuned because I am coming with my own travel channel :D ( Everyone in this world should dream, there is no harm :P ).

3. I am not arrogant! This is a bit controversial though. But i can clarify it trust me I am just a bit moody but not that arrogant or rude. So one should avoid interacting with me when I am in a bad mood.

4. I love ShahRukh Khan. This is a Universal Fact. And yes I have the Intellectual Property Rights over him as well. So mind your language and hold your tongue before saying a word against him because the consequences wont be that much pleasant. I defend him in a very aggressive way, so be aware!

5. I am a peace loving person. I am a salient follower of Buddhism. 'Peace' that's all I care about but sometimes this may vary a bit. And yes i end up fighting, like the real fight If somebody irritates me too much.

 6. I am a big foodie. I am a die-hard non vegetarian but excuse me I don't like meat. It is only Chicken, fish and egg I am in love with. And most importantly I can die for onions and garlic. Dude, I am a typical bong who just loves to eat without gaining any weight ( superb rate of metabolism you know ;).. 'blessed' ) and also don't like to share my food with unnecessary unwanted people I don't like. I am a bit sensitive regarding this issue.

7. And few things I love in life.
I love my parents, family, extended family, Shah Rukh Khan, Rahul Dravid, Johnny Depp, my best friends, Chicken, non-fictions books, Lucky Ali and Akcent songs,  my cell phones (old and new), laptop, ipod, cameras.... basically all sorts of gadgets and every thing which belongs to me I just love them all. The list is pretty long. :D

Ides of March............

Ah, so today my post, sadly, does not come on the Ides of March, but I cannot resist taking this opportunity to talk about something near to my heart.

“Betrayal

Betrayal comes in so many flavors.

The enemy you considered was your friend: Who wasn't shocked - shocked, I say - when Mad Eye Moody, who had helped Harry Potter so much during the school year, revealed himself as Barty Crouch Jr., an agent of Voldemort?

Best friends who do awful things: Julius Caesar was eager to fight off an assassination attempt until he saw his best friend, Marcus Brutus, among his assailants. It broke his heart. "Et tu, Brute?"
Friendships mean everything. We sight our friends as an extension of ourselves, people we can confide in, laugh with, and cry with. We trust our friends with our deepest, darkest secrets; we trust our friends not to hurt us, and to share in our happiness with us. We never, in a million years think that a friend would be capable of betraying our trust.
.........

I will be coming up with more …so please wait for my next post! :P

'Mere pas maa hai' !

It has been a long time that I have been pushed by people (someone particular) to write. but honestly these days I lack both the time and the plot. So This year on Mother's Day ( 12th May 2013), I thought of my five favourite 'Mother' scenes. Coincidentally - or naturally - most of them are big hits with her as well.

The post was triggered by a Sunday viewing of Karan Johar's super-weepie, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.
KJo had exaggerated a mother's intuition manifold and yet created a bloody effective scene in which SRK entered a mall and Jaya sensed his presence from afar. By intercutting the scene with images from SRK's entry scene of the movie, Karan Johar managed to create a scene that never fails to grip me.

Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na had Ratna Pathak Shah as the ultimate cool mom. Being a single mom is nowhere close to being easy but she managed to maintain a perfect balance between being a mentor and a confidant.
As she lay on the sofa reading Naomi Wolf's The Beauty Myth, her son entered whistling and obviously happy with the first flush of love. She managed to capture the emotion with a wonderful line - "Honthon pe seeti, chaal mein uchhaal. Maajra kya hai?"
Nothing could have explained the mother-son relationship better than this one scene.

Reema Lagoo in Maine Pyar Kiya was the first 'cool mom' of Bollywood. She understood her son and knew about his love perfectly well but decided to play a small prank on him. Despite it being slightly contrived, I had watched the scene so many times that I could recite the dialogues without a thought or a pause.

The most iconic mother film of all times - Deewaar - had several scenes where Nirupa Roy had the best lines and was the centre of attention. Though funnily, the most famous mother line in Hindi cinema - "Mere paas maa hai" - doesn't have the mother present.
Neither does my Mom scene from the film. As Nirupa Roy remained unconscious in an ICU, her atheist son climbed the stairs of 'her' temple for the first time in his life. And did something we never imagined possible - he vented his anger at God. In the most touching display of a son's devotion toward his mother, Amitabh Bachchan told God that he was willing to turn himself in if only he gave him his mother back.
Whenever - in the last 37 years - Amitabh Bachchan has gone on a world tour, he has been asked to perform this scene. And for the last 37 years, there hasn't been a dry eye in the audience.

Aradhana was the first film that my mom recommended that I watch (preferably unblinkingly). And I obeyed her and understood the charisma of a filmstar for the first time. Especially in this scene.
Sharmila had just been released from prison and she was taken to an Air Force base by her foster-niece, who wanted Sharmila to meet her fiance. As a side-actor (called Subhash Ghai) announced the arrival, the familiar background score of the film reached a crescendo, the mother saw the smartest Air Force officer walk towards her. And also there are few memories attached to this film since there is a video of where i am there with my mom when I was 6 months old my mom holding me, playing with me and the background music playing is 'Chanda hai tu mera suraj hai tu"... :)

You know the context. You know the scene. Let me not spoil it with my blabbering.
